"A year ago, when I began classes at The Pilates Place, I was already convinced of the health benefits of Pilates. As someone with scoliosis, osteoporosis and arthritis, I was looking for a regular practice that would improve flexibility and balance as well as build bone, muscle and joint strength. With the endorsement and blessing of my physician, I began the search for a studio that would be a good fit for me and found The Pilates Place…guess where? Online!
I was impressed with the website’s focus on motivation, feeling fit, and fun! The photos showcased a serene and immaculate space and the FAQs addressed all my questions, but I still wasn’t ready to commit. Then a quick run over to the studio itself sealed the deal. I arrived just as a session was breaking up, with women chatting and laughing with Beth, the instructor, who immediately welcomed me. She showed interest in me and my issues, shared her thoughts about the benefits of Pilates, and was positive and encouraging. I went home a believer, and signed on that afternoon for the “introductory package.” Another plus: No huge commitment of time or money to start your fitness journey at The Pilates Place!
Pilates has enhanced my life by improving my posture, coordination and balance. It has also increased my muscle strength and control. And I especially appreciate the emphasis on breathing and the importance of mind-body connection. And a totally unexpected benefit? My most recent bone density test, used to measure the strength of my bones, indicated a marked improvement in my hip. Props to Pilates and The Pilates Place for helping me achieve this awesome milestone.
