Before coming to The Pilates Place my hips were incredibly tight, my low back constantly hurt, and let’s not even talk about my knees. I finally feel good and I’m grateful to have found this studio…these workouts are safe, easy on my joints, and feel like self-care. I work my muscles hard during class, but my body doesn’t hurt after which is a game-changer for me! The Pilates Place has become a natural part of my week!

A year ago, I couldn’t touch my toes. Since going to Pilates regularly, I can do that and much more. I can’t express how much this exercise has helped me with my stability, balance, and all-around strength. The classes are what you make them and the instructors give you some individual attention throughout the class. I would recommend this studio to anyone looking to strengthen themselves inside and out.

The Pilates Place is wonderful. I come three times a week after having recent back surgery and I can see a remarkable difference in my strength and flexibility in my low back. The classes are challenging but also fun- you always feel you have worked out, but in that good way! The space is bright and airy, and the reformers are placed socially distanced apart. Would not consider any other studio!

Classes at The Pilates Place are excellent! All of the Instructors are professional, knowledgeable and attentive. In every class, I feel comfortable and challenged all at the same time. I never liked to exercise before, but now I go two to three times a week and am addicted and hate to miss!

I came into the studio (on a walker) after major surgery and for nearly 18 months I could only take private sessions. After a lot of hard work, in addition to physical therapy, I was able to take group classes three days a week! The Instructors were all highly trained and extremely attentive which allows me to feel safe and confident. These reformer classes have helped with my healing, both physically and mentally. I look forward to every session and my body thanks me! I take classes wherever I travel and nothing compares to The Pilates Place!

I truly believe that my consistent pilates practice has improved my tennis game. I definitely have more flexibility in my hips and back and have noticed so much strength in my core. I’m so glad I found this studio where I not only feel better physically, but have fun doing it….I laugh every class!

As we step into the season of giving, it’s a great time to reflect on the power of kindness—not just for those we help, but for ourselves, too.
As we navigate our busy lives, it’s easy to prioritize the needs of others over our own. However, let’s remember the importance of filling your own cup before pouring into someone else’s.
As we continue together on the reformer, let’s take a moment to emphasize an important aspect of our studio: the beauty of "you do you".
So picture this: You're stressed out from work, feeling a bit scattered. You drag yourself to a Pilates class (we've all been there, right?). But then, as you start moving and breathing, something shifts. It's like your brain hits the refresh button.
Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is more common than you think, and if you've ever found yourself feeling more sluggish, sad, or less motivated as the days get shorter, you’re definitely not alone. There’s a secret weapon against those autumn blues—exercise! And yes, Pilates plays a huge part in it.
Do you sometimes feel like you're working out and not seeing results? Perhaps these tips will help....
It's time to start viewing exercise as a privilege instead of a punishment. Stop thinking "I have to exercise" and instead think "I GET to exercise".

Just like how summer invites us to switch up our routines, a mid-year health check-in offers a chance to assess where we stand, make adjustments, and chart our course for the rest of the year.
Did you know that you can strengthen your breathing muscles and breathing mechanics? Just like lifting weights to build muscle or stretching to improve flexibility, you can complete breathing exercises to help strengthen and lengthen your diaphragm, intercostals (muscles between the ribs) and rib cage.
We believe Pilates could be THE difference between living a long independent life versus one that requires constant attention.
We often get asked "how many times a week should I come to class?". Well, there really is no right answer. It depends on your personal goals, but the most important thing is to be consistent.
Is your posture responsible for the back pain? It is a common belief that "bad posture" or slouching leads to back pain, weakness and even damage...but is it true?

Let's talk what to do when you feel your neck tensing up during class. Sometimes it's simply due to weak neck muscles which will get stronger over time with abdominal curls, but it could also be due to improper form or performing the exercise incorrectly.
We're here to tell you to not let your Spring fever get you away from your consistency in your fitness routine.
One mineral, magnesium, plays a pivotal role in enhancing both sleep quality and recovery from exercise. Let’s delve into the science behind magnesium’s benefits.
Did you know after age 30, you lose 3-5% of your lean mass every year? This means that unless you are training and fueling your body properly with strength training and 30-40 grams of protein with every meal, your body composition is changing fairly drastically with each year that passes.
Spring is a great time to embrace detoxification! Let's go beyond the conventional body cleanse...let's simplify and purify our environments, routines, and mindsets. At The Pilates Place, we're here to guide and support you through this refreshing journey.
Among the many recovery modalities, cold plunges and saunas stand out for their contrasting approaches to healing and rejuvenation. But which one holds the scientific edge for muscle recovery?
You must find a balance of training both flexibility and mobility to guarantee an overall healthy body that’s free of injuries.

The reformer is a spring-based piece of Pilates equipment. The resistance provided by the springs offers weight-bearing (read: muscle-strengthening) exercise that increases lean body mass and increases not just your muscle strength, but your bone strength, too, helping to prevent serious diseases like osteoporosis.
