Studio Owner- Danielle Miller
Hello! I took the leap from certified Pilates Instructor to Studio Owner after more than 15 years of teaching in the fitness industry. My Pilates journey began when I started taking private reformer sessions and group mat classes for my chronic low back pain. Not only did I have less low back pain, more flexibility EVERYWHERE, and so much more strength, but I remember leaving every session feeling happy and accomplished.
My hope is that not only do you feel better physically after class, but mentally as well. The Pilates Place feels like my second home because of the clients and the passionate instructors - I hope it can feel like your second home too.

More than 20 years ago Nancy started her career in fitness as a Personal Trainer, but after falling in love with the benefits of Pilates, she quickly became certified in Pilates mat classes and completed Stott reformer trainings. She also received her 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher certificate. After having taught many different types of fitness classes, she has gained vast knowledge of how the body functions and has learned how to modify exercises or take them up a notch depending on the client. She's a queen at motivating her students whether it be in a private session or in a group class with her upbeat personality.

Beth has been living with a ruptured C5-6 disc (neck) for 30+ years, but has successfully managed the pain with a consistent yoga and Pilates practice. She believes that resistance and body-weight training is the best way to keep your joints healthy and happy. Beth has been teaching to athletes, beginners, students with scoliosis, 80 year olds and more, but everyone has the same goal - to feel good so they can move without pain in their daily life. From her many years of teaching, she knows the right amount of hand-holding each student needs and the right amount of challenge each student can handle.

Hello! I took the leap from certified Pilates Instructor to Studio Owner after more than 15 years of teaching in the fitness industry. My pilates journey began when I started taking private reformer and cadillac lessons and group mat classes for my chronic low back pain. Not only did I have less lower back pain, more flexibility EVERYWHERE, and a much stronger core, but I remember leaving every session feeling happy - not a sweaty mess and achy like I felt after some fitness classes at the gym. Just happy and a little lighter in my step.
Emphasizing correct form and proper biomechanics during my classes is important to me and I love to explain the benefits of each exercise. I bring in the mind-body connection to every class and believe it’s important to end each class with a few moments of silence to allow the body to recover and reset the nervous system.
When the opportunity presented itself to own a studio in February 2021, the timing was perfect and I went full force ahead. My hope is that not only do you feel better physically after class, but mentally as well. The Pilates Place feels like my second home because of the clients and the Instructors - I hope it can feel like your second home too.
FAQ
-
Yes, it is highly recommended to have private instruction to become familiar with how to move on the reformer and for safety reasons.
-
You need to cancel 24 hours before the start of class or a class will be deducted from your package or a session will be charged to your credit card.
-
Everyone is different, but if you can commit to 3 times a week, you should see and feel a difference in your overall strength and flexibility within a few weeks.
-
Call us at 410-205-9747. We can match you with an Instructor who can help you get the most from your session.
-
Private sessions are best for you; however, an overall body workout is highly recommended. If you have shoulder issues or tight hamstrings or scoliosis, let the Instructor know before class so she can cue you differently.
-
Don’t expect bright neon lights, loud music, or crazy intense instructors. The studio is simple, quiet, and peaceful to ensure you can find your mind-body connection. Expect to leave every class feeling positive and uplifted and over time you’ll naturally notice your flexibility and strength improve. We want the studio to be your happy place.
-
Relaxed and simple. We pride ourselves on the community we’ve attracted - kind, respectful, thoughtful (funny!) people who are there for many different reasons. (Don’t be surprised if you grab lunch after class with a new friend or two from class!)
-
You could be on a reformer next to someone looking to improve their range of motion for their golf game and on the other side of you is a grandma that is simply looking to keep her flexibility and improve her posture. In the next class, the person on your left might be there to focus on her tight hips and low back while the person on the other side is just happy to have a break from her kiddos and enjoy some alone time.
-
We are casual and laid back! Wear what you’ll feel comfortable in - most clients wear leggings and a tank or a tee-shirt. We prefer you to be barefoot because working the feet is so important in pilates. If you’d like to wear grippy socks, that’s fine with us!
-
You may notice that some classes are waitlisted - please add yourself to the waitlist because if a spot becomes available more than 24 hours before class begins, you will be automatically added to the class and will be notified by the scheduling system if your notifications are turned on.
