June is Scoliosis Awareness month and we wanted to show support for our many scoliosis clients!

Scolio-Pilates is a specialized exercise program that combines elements of Pilates with scoliosis-specific techniques. It’s designed to help people with scoliosis, a condition characterized by an abnormal curvature of the spine, improve their posture, alignment, body awareness and overall body strength.
The program starts with an assessment of the individual's spinal curvature and movement patterns. Based on the assessment, a customized exercise routine is created by Emily to address specific needs and limitations. The exercises often involve precise movements, spinal rotations, stretches, and strengthening exercises that target the muscles responsible for supporting the spine. During the sessions, the reformer, the tower and scoliosis wedges are used. Some clients meet weekly with Emily, some meet bi-weekly and some clients combine their private sessions with Emily along with taking group classes.
